★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The map indicates as if all the ferries detart from this terminal, but not all the ferries operate from here. Blue Star Ferries have some ships to Aegina which depart from the gate 8, and it is very doubtful that the online ticket will give you the full, accurate information on the port number, vessel number, and gate number in prior. Piraeus is a huge port and it is very likely that the visitors are confused and miss the boats here if there is not enough time. The visitors have to go to their ferry company's office first to get a ticket - don't just trust and go to the place given on the map your online ticket provides, because it is completely wrong information, and you'll waste your time to be here and there in the nowhere. Go straight to the ferry company or ask a member of staff at the working desk with your ticket to know where you should go.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love the night ferry to Crete, usually leaves around 22:00 and arrives at 6:00 the next day, plenty of time to explore the ship and take some rest (you’re not allowed though to place your feet on the chairs or lay down till midnight, but well after 24:00 anything goes, I’ve seen people even pitching up tents lol), during peak season enter the ship as early as you can and look for the carpeted areas where later you might use to sleep.
The port is typical Greek, seems chaotic but somehow everything works, be aware though of the big trucks, cars and motorbikes exiting or entering the boat.
