★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Plain and boring with not enough nature or even activities to do good place for children to play and ride their bicycles but other than that there is nothing special about the place the nearby shops are not too pricey but they are boring and have nothing new and innovative to offer
Good place for families with children but us youngsters have nothing to do there

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The beautiful central square of the Tripoli town. Clean and safe place, nice for families and kids with cafe and restaurants around the area. It is also a memorial park with historical monuments. More lively on weekends, good for all ages.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The historic centre of Tripoli is platia Areos. A huge open space surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants and a park. Over there you will see interesting buildings and also the statue of the one and only hero of the revolution of 1821, Theodoros Kolokotronis. On the base of the statue, his remains are kept in a crypt.
Go for a walk while at Tripoli, just make sure it's not a very hot day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A place of unique historical importance, especially when it comes to Greek Independence and the relevant 1800s liberation war against the Ottoman rule, Tripolis is marked by this square, where one can find the statue of the pre-eminent leader of the Greek Revolution, Theodoros Kolokotronis (1770-1843). Until recently, rumor had it that the General's bones were burried beneath his statue. Areos Square is a huge for local - but also, Greek, in general - standars square, where one is happy to strall on a sunny day. The artistic gardens add a fine note to the whole picture.

In the park not far from the illuminated fountain, the guys were smoking of something. The girl was sitting alone in the shade on a bench.
