★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So much history! Just can't believe that in this place, thousands of years before, wisdom, philosophy and maths where taught and helped humanity to be what it is. Difficult for someone to realize this, that this place used to be the worlds education center!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a Philosophy student, it was a must for me to come here. Open space ruins in the middle of a park. If you have good imagination and time to wonder around you could picture the Academy as you can see its foundations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When I visited in 2017, the remnants of Plato’s Academy was unfortunately neglected. There was nothing roping it off from misuse and garbage was thrown about. Hopefully more attention has been given since to this preeminent historical location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I felt a real sense of history here. Imagine sitting in the Academy, being one of Platos students and hearing first hand what would become the basis of Western thought for the next 2500 years!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unassuming, yet nice park, a green spot outside the tourist centre. Home of Plato's Academy, of which hardly any remains are visible: the ruins are from a later period. But still a historic place, which would get much more attention if it was located in the city centre. Now it it mainly a park for kids to play, and parents to stroll with pram or stroller. Which, if you come to think about it, is also befitting as a place to entertain and educate the young.
