★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's great to be in the place where was the Academy of Platon. Unfortunately place is not been use properly, full of dust and garbage in ancient areas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Though I was excited because of the historical importance of the site, I was disappointed. Lack of signs, the place is absolutely dirty. It seems no body care. The state of the park is sad. And still I am wondering why the government cannot do anything about it. If you are interested in history and philosophy the visit is a must. But do not go with very high expectations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I now understand why Greek universities are today in such a desolate condition. Just because the first university ever, the Academy of Plato, is today in a similar one. The so called "Plato's Academy Archeological Site" is just the worse archeological site I ever visited in Greece (and I have visited dozens of them to date). Have a look at the photos and just see how Greeks today honour one of the greatest philosophers of antiquety as well as the first university he established, i.e. the Academia.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my favorite park in Athens :) this is where I take my dogs for a walk on a daily basis and where I have Sunday picnics with my daughter. However, although it could be one of the most attractive archaeological sites of Greece, very little can be seen on the site. Most of the findings have been moved to museums elsewhere.
