Έτσι ώστε ο ασθενής να έχει την καλύτερη δυνατή εξέταση και διάγνωση για να γίνει η πιο άρτια αντιμετώπιση στο νησι. Βεβαια εάν είναι κάτι οξύ που χρειάζεται εξειδικευμένη περίθαλψη σε δευτεροβάθμια δομή υγείας θα χρειαστεί να παραπεμφθεί σε νοσοκομείο στην ενδοχώρα. Όπως γίνονται και στις δημόσιες δομές υγειας εδώ στο νησί. ( μιλάω εκ πείρας επειδή έχω λάβει την περίθαλψη και εγώ προσωπικά και μέλη του οικογενειακου περιβάλλοντος μου) It provides all the expected benefits for primary health care structure on an island such as Skiathos with CT scan, radiology department, microbiological and more. So that the patient has the best possible examination and diagnosis to become the most complete treatment on the island. Of course if it is something acute that needs specialized care in a secondary health structure it will need to be referred to an inland hospital. As they are done in the public health structures here on the island. (I speak from experience because I have received care and I personally and members of my family environment)

Had an x-ray which they miss-read and gave the wrong diagnosis and consequently the wrong treatment. When they found out we had insurance then all of a sudden more tested were needed and bill trebled.

They were cautious about the head wound and wanted to see her for follow up, with no charge. We live in the US and find prices extremely reasonable. Pleasant service, seem competent. Much better than past Skiathos medical experiences elsewhere! Bring your passport for covid testing. Walk-in for rapid, make appointment for PCR.

My anti anxiety medication had run out and I will be in skiathos for another 5 weeks, the doctor asked me about my issues with the door open making me feel more anxious as people over heard me opening up about my issues, he didn’t understand the system abroad and expected me to have a previous prescription with me and I was only planning to be in skiathos for 2 weeks so didn’t plan that far ahead. He turned me away without any help. I expected a lot more from a private health care, and from the doctor as he has a duty of care. My issue was resolved in the public hospital next door so I advise anyone travelling to not feed into the private hospital as I left feeling worse than I went in and far more anxious than necessary.
