Proimos apartments (in Gerani, not in Platanias). A small authentic hotel in Gerani 200m to the bus stop, with a 5 min (3km) connection to tourist village Platanias and a 40 min bus drive to the city Chania (very easy to use). The hotels apartments are not new, but clean and with good beds and a fine kitchen. 2 min walk to supermarkets and 5 min to the place where Spies/Ving make pickups for their tours, and a car rental (from 35 euro per day). There is a fine beach less than 200m away, where you can rent sun beds for 2,5 euro. Aircon is 40 euro per week and safety box is 10 euro. You should choose this hotel if you are looking for a quite place – at the very fine and clean pool (and during the night – no disco, drunk people or car horns). The pool is deep enough to make head jumps/swimming, but a separate corner for small children is also available. The most important thing is however the managers of the restaurant. It is a local couple. He is from Crete and she is from Norway. Their service I have never seen matched anywhere else! I will say they threat you as your family. They serve everyday two different Greek dishes with products from their own farm. They of cause have pizza, mixed grill and so. But you will choose the homemade dishes I’m sure. A family with four people can eat for around 50 euro for a main course, dessert, wine/beer/soft drinks, water, fruit and coffee.
