Μέσα στον χρόνο βρέθηκε έρημη κι εγκαταλελειμμένη μα ο θεός της έστειλε Ειρηναίο και Αρσένη. Διό ρασοφόροι μορφωμένοι με πίστη και ψυχή που σαν γροθιά είναι ενωμένοι για έργα και για προκοπή. Αναστηλώσαν την μονή την έκαναν αγνώριστη και εις την γύρω της περιοχή κάνεις του Παραδείσου αναγνώριση. Μα ο θεός τους άξιους πάντα τους δοκιμάζει γι αυτό και εις το έργο τους συχνά εμπόδια βάζει. Τη μια προβλήματα με την υγεία από την άλλη τα οικονομικά δεν κλόνισαν ούτε στιγμή της πίστης την αξία στων διό ιερωμένων την καρδιά. Η αγάπη και η ευλογία του Χριστού δύναμη να δίνει στις ψυχές τους η δε συμβολή στο έργο τους κάθε πιστού χέρι βοήθειας εις τις προσπάθειες τους. Α	Αντώνης Παπαχαραλάμπους on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Νοτιοανατολικά της Ασωπίας και σε απόσταση 6 Km βρίσκεται το μοναστήρι του Προφήτη Ηλία, το οποίο είναι γνωστό με το σλαβικό όνομα ΤΣΑΤΣΑΡΙ (τσάρος των τσάρων, του Βασιλέως των Βασιλέων), δηλαδή του Kυρίου ημών Ιησού Χριστού. Κρίνοντας από αυτή την προσωνυμία πιστεύουμε ότι το μοναστήρι του Προφήτη Ηλία, έχει καταβολές ίδρυσης στα μέσα του 8ου αιώνα, εποχή κατά την οποία έγινε και η μεγάλη εποίκηση των Σλάβων στην Βοιωτία. Για το μοναστήρι αυτό γνωρίζουμε ότι ήταν μετόχι της Ιεράς Μονής Σινά. Το μικρό αυτό μοναστήρι αναφέρεται σε σχετικό χειρόγραφο του Πρωτοσύγγελου Καλλίστρατου Σιναίτου του έτους 1844 ως Μονύδριον επί ονόματι Προφήτου Ηλία εις θέσιν τζάτζαρι με διάφορα οικήματα και γαίας καλλιεργησίμους και μη , με υδρόμυλον με λιθάρια δύο. Άλλες πληροφορίες δεν υπάρχουν. Η αρχιτεκτονική του Ναού και των παλαιών μοναστηριακών χώρων που σώζονται και που είναι γνωστός ως "κρυφό σχολειό" σύμφωνα με πρόσφατη μελέτη του καθηγητού του Ε.Μ. Πολυτεχνείου Γεωργίου Προκοπίου ( Ιούνιος 2002 ) ανάγεται στον 11ο ή στο 12ο αιώνα. Το καθολικό του ναού ανταποκρίνεται , κατά τον καθηγητή Προκοπίου στην χωρική δομή του δικώνιου εγγεγραμμένου σταυροειδούς μετά τρούλου και είναι σημαντικής αρχαιολογικής και αρχιτεκτονικής αξίας . Περίπου το 1880 το μοναστήρι πωλήθηκε με το κτήμα του στον Επαμεινώνδα Δημητρίου. Το 1920-25 οι κληρονόμοι του Ε. Δημητρίου πώλησαν το Μοναστήρι σε ομάδα κατοίκων από την Ασωπία. Μέχρι πρότινος και σχεδόν για 140 χρονια διοικείτο από Επιτροπή κατοίκων του χωριού Ασωπίας. Σήμερα ανήκει στην Ιερά Μητρόπολη Θηβών και Λεβαδείας, της οποίας αποτελεί ανδρώα Ιερά Μονή με πρώτο Καθηγούμενο τον Πανοσιολογιώτατο Αρχινανδρίτη π. Αρσένιο Γιαννακούλια. Η επίσημη εορτη της Ιεράς Μονής τελείται την Κυριακή του Θωμά. Μικρές πανηγύρεις επίσης τελούνται των Αγίων Προφήτου Ηλιού, Μεγαλομάρτυρος Αικατερίνης, Αρσενίου του Μεγάλου και την Πρωτομαγιά. Η ιερότητα του χώρου και η φυσική ομορφιά του τοπίου γαληνεύουν τον επισκέπτη. Χαρίζουν στιγμές πνευματικής ανατάσεως και ψυχικής αγαλλιάσεως. Judging by this nickname, we believe that the monastery of Prophet Elias has its roots in the middle of the 8th century, a time when the great settlement of the Slavs in Boeotia took place. We know that this monastery was part of the Holy Monastery of Sinai. This small monastery is mentioned in a relevant manuscript of the Protosyggelos Kallistratos Sinaitos of the year 1844 as Monydrion in the name of Profitos Elias in a tzatzari place with various houses and arable land and not, with a watermill with two stones. There is no other information. The architecture of the Temple and the old monastic spaces that are preserved and which is known as a "secret school" according to a recent study by the professor of E.M. Polytechnic of Georgios Prokopios (June 2002) dates back to the 11th or 12th century. According to Professor Prokopiou, the katholikon of the church corresponds to the spatial structure of the biconical inscribed cruciform with a dome and is of significant archaeological and architectural value. Around 1880 the monastery was sold with his estate to Epameinondas Dimitriou. In 1920-25 the heirs of E. Demetriou sold the Monastery to a group of residents from Asopia.
