Proti Cruises - Pier

I contacted Proti Cruises by email to try and book onto their round the island tour but not enough people to justify it. Captain Yannis kindly explained in very good English by email what was involved in their half day beach trip and we decided to go for it - really glad we did or we would have missed a treat. Each step of the trip was explained in advance by Yannis in good English and Greek Left the harbour at 10.30 for the 15 minutes crossing. Landed on the beach and took advantage of the free loan of a beach umbrella as there isn't much shade (other passengers were borrowing free masks and snorkels) Note that you climb down from the boat into the shallows so worth taking shoes that don't matter for that part. Also if yo are planning to havea little hike around as a few people did then worth taking decent shoes with you as the terrain is pretty much untouched by mankind so the pathways are a little uneven Also it may be obvious but on an uninhabited island you need to take plenty of fluid as well as your swimming kit etc; one couple seemed slightly surprised that there wasn't a bar there! The beach is a bit special, very small and very good for snorkelling with it's own WW2 shipwreck to drift over At 12.30 we left the beach and visited Seal Cave (where people were able to swim from the boat) and then to see some inscriptions carved into the rocks - some of them apparently dating back to 400BC Arrived back at around 1.30 The cost for this great 3 hour trip? Just 10 Euros each! Brilliant and highly recommended

We had a very nice and beatiful boat trip. We recommend this experience to everyone! Captain Yannis was the perfect guide by sharing interesting info about the bay and nearby islands. We stopped at several memorial monuments but also nice spots near the islands to have a refreshing dive/swim.

Excellent 3hr boat trip with well informed "Captain Yanis" who explains all the local history. Good swimming and snorkeling. Highlight was seeing the Sea Turtle swim by. Myself, wife and two children really enjoyed our day trip with Yannis.

Gialova is a fantastic place on its own. Beautiful beaches, exciting history and breathtaking sights... You will have a tour around the monuments of the historical battle of Sphacteria, and you will swim in the cold water of Ionian. I would definitely recommend it to all of you. But no matter how gorgeous is this place, captain Yiannis was the one who made it unique for us! We have been in many places, and it's rare to meet professionals who actually care about people and not only for clients. He knows really good the area's history, and he was eager to answer every silly question of ours. Finally, his patience and his human-centric approach to the problems are definitely characteristics of a wise man! We are so grateful for this trip! Thank you so much, Yiannis!!!

Great experience! Would recommend to everybody. Captain took us to different places so we could enjoy swimming in crystal clear water, stunning view from the top of the island and some pretty adrenaline ride on the open sea to see a cave. Would definitely go again ❤️

We had a great time on the 3h cruise. We were a large group so we rook a private tour and it was awesome. Captain Yannis took us to see some historical monuments around (brittish, french, russian), we stopped for some swimming in turquoise waters and for some rock jumping. Captain Yannis even endured our loud music and wild dancing on the boat :P I recommend this experience!
