★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Στη διασταύρωση των λεωφόρων Τατοϊου και Γεωργίου Δροσίνη βρίσκεται η προτομή του Παναγιώτη Πολυκανδριώτη, Έλληνα πρώην πυγμάχου του εθνικού γυμναστικού συλλόγου, έξι φορές πρωταθλητή Ελλάδος στο άθλημα και βαλκανιονίκη στην κατηγορία βαρέων βαρών.
Ο σεισμός της Αθήνας το 1999 μεγέθους 5,9 της κλίμακας Ρίχτερ θα κοστίσει τη ζωή του ηρωικού αυτού ανθρώπου, που με περίσσεια αυταπάρνηση, θα προσπαθήσει να σώσει τα τρία παιδιά του από τα χαλάσματα του σπιτιού, που την ώρα εκείνη κατέρρεε.

 At the intersection of Tatoiou and Georgiou Drosini avenues is the bust of Panagiotis Polykandriotis, a Greek former boxer of the national gymnastics club, six times champion of Greece in the sport and Balkan in the heavyweight category.
The 5.9 magnitude earthquake in Athens in 1999 will cost the life of this heroic man, who with excessive self-denial, will try to save his three children from the ruins of the house, which was collapsing at that time.
