Food places are a little competitive and pushy. Nothing horrible though. A smile and simple no thank you gets you through. Food is reasonably priced and staff very friendly.

Quite well organized harbour village for ferry mainly to the Cyclade Islands. A nice hotel (Avra) is in walking distance to the ferry. Some pretty good tavernas in the harbor. Happy to come back!

If you travel from Athens to Mykonos (or any of the other Cyclades islands) and want to save approx. 1 hour less travelling on sea or you arrive at Athens airport and looking for the closest port to take the ferry then consider Rafina port instead of Piraeus. In addition there are plenty of ticket offices to buy your ferry ticket without waiting in long queues and many little cute fish tavernas in case you have 2-3 hours ahead till the departure time of your ferry! Definitely much better than the central port of Piraeus with less traffic, cleaner, with an island vibe, adding extra value to your vacations in many ways! One of the worst ports I've ever been. Very poorly made and when its raining all the water stays inside the parking, making big lakes .

Took the ferries to and from this port, for first time visitors of Athens, please note, there is no metro or a bus to this port and it is quiet a bit outside of the centre of Athens. I paid 37 euros in a taxi which is exactly equivalent to the ticket of a 1 side ferry fare to Mykonos from athens. If possible try other port which has got better connectivity

Very nice port with a pay storage so you can leave your luggage while having a lunch, walking around till your ferry comes.

Efficient, well-run port with plenty of places to eat (especially seafood) before and after your ferry trip to the islands of Andros, Tinos, Mykonos and others of the Cyclades group. It’s a about 45 minutes from Piraeus by car.
