Δεν έχει δωθεί και μεγάλη προσοχή κ έτσι ο χώρος των κοιμητηρίων δείχνει παραμελημένος και νιώθεις την εγκατάλειψη. Παρά την μεγάλη επισκεψιμότητα λόγω των κοιμητηρίων δεν έχει γίνει καμία επέμβαση αναβάθμισης των χωρών του κοιμητηρίου. Behind the church of Agios Georgios are the cemeteries of Kozani. Not much attention has been paid and so the cemetery area looks neglected and you feel abandoned. Despite the heavy traffic due to the cemeteries, no intervention has been made to upgrade the cemetery countries.

A	Anastasios Peslis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Αυτό που αξίζει να αναφερθεί για τον Αγιο Γεώργιο,είναι για ένα έθιμο, οι ρίζες του οποίου χάνονται στα βάθη των αιώνων,το οποίο επιτάσσει τους Κοζανίτες να υποδέχονται κάθε χρόνο το ελπιδοφόρο μήνυμα της Ανάστασης του Θεανθρώπου στα κοιμητήρια της πόλης δίπλα στους τάφους και στα οστεοφυλάκια των συγγενικών τους προσώπων. Τα νεκροταφεία γεμίζουν ασφυκτικά με πιστούς ενώ η νύχτα γίνεται μέρα απο τις λαμπάδες και τις χαρούμενες φωνές των κατοίκων. Ίσως σε κάποιον που δεν έχει συνηθίσει στην εικόνα, το έθιμο να φαίνεται περίεργο, αντιφατικό, ίσως και μακάβριο. Εξάλλου, για ολόκληρη τη Χριστιανοσύνη, Ανάσταση σημαίνει χαρά. Κι όμως, τα μεσάνυκτα του Μ.Σαββάτου το κλίμα στα νεκροταφεία της πόλης είναι άκρως εορταστικό! Άνθρωποι όλων των ηλικιών ανταλάσσουν ευχές, παιδιά παίζουν στους διαδρόμους, τα καντήλια ανάβουν με το Άγιο Φως και σε κάθε τάφο τοποθετούνται κόκκινα αυγά. What is worth mentioning for Saint George is a custom whose roots are lost in the depths of the ages, which urges the Kozaniites to receive every year the hopeful message of the Resurrection of God in the cemeteries of the city next to the graves and osteopaths of their relatives. The cemeteries are filled with devotees and the night is lighted by the candles and the happy voices of the inhabitants. Perhaps to someone who is not used to the image, the custom may seem strange, contradictory, perhaps even macabre. After all, for all Christianity, Resurrection means joy. And yet, at midnight on Saturdays, the climate in the city's cemeteries is extremely festive! People of all ages exchange greetings, children play in the corridors, the candles are lit with the Holy Light, and red eggs are placed in every tomb.
