Χτισμένος με την παραδοσιακή αρχιτεκτονική σχεδόν όλων των ναών της περιοχής των ορεινών του νόμου Ιωαννίνων. Πρόσβαση είτε μπαίνοντας στο χωριό είτε περιφερειακά από την πλατεία. TRADITIONAL TEMPLE. Stone-built temple just inside the entrance to the village of Kalarrites. Built with the traditional architecture of almost all churches in the mountainous area of Ioannina. Access either by entering the village or peripherally from the square.

A	Athanasios Athanasiadis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο ενοριακός ναός του Αγίου Νικολάου, πολιούχου των Καλαρρυτών, χτίστηκε τον 15ο αιώνα, πιθανόν το 1480. Βρίσκεται μέσα στον οικισμό και είναι μεγάλη τρίκλιτη, τρισυπόστατη τρουλαία βασιλική, με επιμελημένο κρίσιμο και πολύ ψηλό τρούλο. Η εκκλησία πυρπολήθηκε το 1821 και τα σημερινά ξυλόγλυπτα (τέμπλο, άμβωνας και δεσποτικό) κατασκευάστηκαν το 1845 από μετσοβίτη τεχνίτη. Ο κεντρικός πολυέλαιος κατασκευάστηκε στην Τεργέστη και δωρήθηκε από την οικογένεια Νέσση τον 19ο αιώνα. Τα δύο πλαϊνά κλίτη είναι αφιερωμένα, το μεν δεξιό στον Άγιο Χαράλαμπο και το αριστερό στους Αγίους Πάντες. Στην εκκλησία φυλάσσονται εκκλησιαστικά είδη, έργα ονομαστών Καλαρρυτινών ασημουργών, όπως το ευαγγέλιο από τον Αθανάσιο Τζιμούρη. Οι τοιχογραφίες του ναού είναι εξαιρετικής τέχνης, όμως δεν είναι συντηρημένες. Υπάρχουν δε τρία στρώματα με τοιχογραφίες διαφορετικών εποχών. Την εκκλησία μπορεί να επισκεφθεί κάποιος μετά από συνεννόηση με τον ιερέα ή κατά τη διάρκεια μιας λειτουργίας. Απαγορεύεται όμως η φωτογράφηση μέσα στο ναό. The parish church of Agios Nikolaos, patron saint of Kalarrita, was built in the 15th century, probably in 1480. It is located in the settlement and is a large three-aisled, three-aisled dome basilica, with a critical and very high dome. The church was set on fire in 1821 and the current wood carvings (iconostasis, pulpit and despotic) were made in 1845 by a Metsovite craftsman. The central chandelier was built in Trieste and donated by the Nessi family in the 19th century. The two side aisles are dedicated, the right one to Agios Charalambos and the left one to Agios Pantes. The church keeps ecclesiastical items, works of famous Kalarryta silversmiths, such as the gospel by Athanasios Tzimouris. The frescoes of the temple are of exceptional art, but they are not preserved. There are three layers with frescoes from different eras. The church can be visited after consultation with the priest or during a service. However, photography inside the temple is prohibited.
