Originally constructed in 1923-1930 by Anna Papadopoulou, the sister of the famous Greek fighter Pavlos Melas, in order to treat soldiers of the Asia Minor campaogn who suffered from tuberculosis. It was abandoned after her death in 1938 and remains abandoned to this day. It remains in very good condition (considering) due to its rigid limestone construction by the builders from Lagadia.It has been recently declared (June 2019) as a protected building by the Greek State.
