The owner is exceptionally polity and can give you excellent advice about hiking, climbing or even skiing during winter. Would visit again 1000 times

M	Michael Dahan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Saxonis houses is, simply put, a wonderful place to stay, run and managed by a professional, warm, and friendly staff, beginning with the owner/proprietor Vasilis and his brother Vangelis. The rooms are clean and well appointed with a lovely boutique atmosphere. Vasilis himself looks after the guests as if they were family. Breakfasts are delicious and prepared by a wonderful staff. Vasilis helps with hiking routes and advice, always available for questions and also serves as a guide for longer hikes and treks. I highly recommend the Saxonis for anyone wanting to hike the Zagori mountains, or simply to get away from it all and relax in a quiet and rural atmosphere. Papigo is a lovely village with friendly residents as well as excellent tavernas, and the Saxonis is THE place to stay. I will definitely return.

I will remember my stay in a village that was better than any fairytale rendition, more hospitable than a southern house, and more beautiful surroundings than you will be able to take in! You’re stay in Greece is not complete unless you stay here..

Location? 10/10, like 2 mins from the main square. Beauty? 10/10, you need to check the views from the rooms Rooms? 10/10, traditional old guest houses, refurbished but dating back to 1800s. Cozy and astonishing! Host? 10/10, Mr Vasilis was exceptional from the very first moment!

Saxonis houses are clean and our room had a nice and cosy atmosphere. The host Vasilis (and his personnal) is friendly, helpful and gave us a really warm welcome. The breakfast is also great! The village Papingo has a lot to offer for people who like to rest, hike and enjoy nature. Additionally it is possible to visit the Papingo rock pools, the voidomatis River and to book activities like rafting.

We stayed at the Saxonis Hotel, it had all facilities including radiators for cooler nights. The owner is a great guy, featured in one of the pictures. We went in April so not a lot of tourists we got really lucky with weather. Really can't recommend it more. It was a long bendy drive to Papingo but a trip to remember forever. We did 3 hikes and honestly never seen anything like it. Europe's largest canyon and the viodamatis river and the dragon lake...just wow.
