★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The privat owener driven Apartments and Stone houses are the best i have seen in South crete. This is a typical village on the hills pretty close to the beach but with a fantastic view.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you want hotel service with maid service and bedding changed twice a week then don’t come here !
If you want good accommodation where you can get clean sheets and towels for yourself as many times as you like by walking twenty yards come here.
If you want to be met by very kind hosts Kostas and Stavroula and made to feel very safe and welcome in a typical Greek village where several tavernas serve delicious food come here. If you want to feel that your hosts will help you with any difficult situations that might arise for you then know that I have seen them go to quite extraordinary lengths to do just that several times.
The accommodation is fairly basic but with all the amenities and more than adequate with good wi-fi access. Shower and hot water is available throughout the day. All this is available at very good rates compared to surrounding properties.
Add to this the nearness (approximately 2 k) of a nice beach and more good tavernas and you will do as I do (at 76 years old) come to Scala Apartments, Kamilari.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Three and a half stars actually. It's clean and pretty basic. Nice location with a view from most rooms. No special amenities, or even a shampoo, but spacious balcony and quiet, since Kamilari is no party town. Lower part with kitchenette, bathroom (with shower curtain that could stand being a little bit longer) and sitting room + balcony and a bedroom upstairs with a queen bed and two bunks + balcony. It's all you need since you should be spending most of your day outdoors anyway.
