Unser erster Urlaub auf Kreta war sofort ein Volltreffer. Er führte uns nach Kalamaki ins Apartment von Renata und Michalis nach Südkreta. Unsere Erwartungen sind weit übertroffen worden. Die fantastische Lage des Apartments direkt am Meer hat uns sofort verzaubert. Alles war so unglaublich sauber, modern, geschmackvoll, hell und durchdacht. Während des gesamten Aufenthaltes gab es einen sehr herzlichen Kontakt zu den Beiden. Kalamaki ist ein wunderbarer Standort, um Südkreta mit seinen einzigartigen Stränden und dem kristallklaren Wasser zu erkunden. Traumhaften Schlaf fanden wir nicht nur durch die herrlichen Betten, sondern auch durch das stetige Rauschen der Wellen am Strand. Kalamaki ist ein wunderschönerer kleiner Ort mit vielen gemütlichen Tavernen. Kleine Supermärkte und Bäckereien sind in wenigen Minuten fußläufig erreichbar. Wir können es sehr gut weiter empfehlen.

Sehr schöne, helle und moderne Appartements mit Blick auf das Meer. Sehr gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber! Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Kalamaki, ist ein kleines Dorf, an einen sehr schönen, langen Sandstrand (die Apartments sind 30m vom Meer entfernt). Es ist warm, hat gute Luft, gutes Essen, entspannte Atmosphäre und schöne Natur. Ich würde es jedem weiterempfehlen!

Finikas 1 is de beste locatie van de drie met nr 23 als het beste appartement. Men kan er vanaf nu ook ontbijt verkrijgen. Judith is de perfecte gastvrouw.

Wir waren über mehrere Jahre Gäste in diesem hervorragenden Apartment-Haus und haben uns immer sehr wohl gefühlt. Renata ist eine sehr aufmerksame und korrekte Gastgeberin, immer um das Wohl ihrer Gäste bemüht. Die Räumlichkeiten sind gut durchdacht und zweckmäßig eingerichtet, alle Räume sind klimatisiert, die Kücheneinrichtung komfortabel, alle Räume können mit elektrischen Rolläden verdunkelt werden. Gespeist werden kann auf dem geräumigen Balkon oder in einer integrierten Essecke. Auch wenn wir zukünftig dort keine Buchungen mehr vornehmen werden (wir haben unsere eigene Traumvilla im Süden Kreta's gefunden), können wir dieses Haus uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

This is a great place to stay. Very well equipped, great views, fantastic host....what more can you say except if I was going to Kalamki I would stay there again

Let's try to start with a joke: it should be called Kakerlaki or Cockroachlaki and you should know BEFORE you come here, not while you here, like we did and never would have came here. The appartment was completely contaminated with Cockroaches. We discovered that out after 1 week and left Instantly. From their point of view "it's not bad and some traps would solve the problem"and "they're all over Kalamaki" (that's why the joke) Well, that was not our point of view, I think it's more than understandable that we don't want to feel sickened and disgusted the 7 days left, in our only holidays this year! It's their responsibility that something like that never happen to their renters, EVER, especially when you choose a more expensive apartment like we did with this one. We payed for 2 weeks and there was unfortunately no accommodation from the owners although they knew that they have this problems before and that we have to pay somewhere else for the 2nd week. (Of course short-notice and July prices= extra 900€ bucks) So sad, so disappointing and not fair towards us. But we stay fair and say: 2 Stars, for the perfect looking + equipped appartment and the location/view.

With 16 and 10 year old children to entertain we were looking for a family beach holiday in Crete and on the Internet we stumbled across Kalamaki Apartments in the village of Kalamaki southern Crete and it turned out to be a superb find. The pictures of the apartments looked amazing but the reality was much better than photos can show. The owners of the apartments, Renata and Michaelis, stayed up to 1am to welcome us from our late flight and thoughtfully left some wine and cold beer in the fridge which was really appreciated! The occupy the top floor of the building which is great as they were always available if we had any questions about the apartment or local area but they left us to ourselves otherwise. The two bedroom apartment was immaculately finished and perfectly clean. It was built to the highest standard with top quality fittings and fixtures including very effective underfloor cooling and electric shutters that can be closed to keep the sun out and rooms cool at when needed or at night. The view from inside the apartment is amazing with an uninterrupted view of the sea from most rooms through full width sliding glass doors and glass walled balconies. No need to stand on the balcony to look at the sea. The apartment had everything we needed including coffee maker, washing machine and dishwasher and the wifi kept everyone happy too! The apartment is directly in front of the quieter end of Kalamaki beach, slightly raised, with just a small quiet track between it and the beach. Within sight of the apartment is a small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. As with all the beach front restaurants near by they provide thatched style beach umbrellas and reclining beach chairs available to use for free. I am sure they appreciate it if you buy the occasional drink or snack though. The beach is sandy and clean with plenty of space and rarely busy. We enjoyed snorkelling near the waters edge and found several types of fish. At every place you leave the beach you will find a simple shower provided to wash the sand off as you need it. Brilliant. Kalamaki itself is, for us, the perfect size and level of development. It is small enough to feel authentic with friendly locals and enough restaurants and small shops to provide all you need (small supermarket, bakery, souvenirs, beach stuff) but not over developed. We took a day trip to near by Matala with its ancient caves carved into the coastal cliffs, which made a nice break but we much preferred the feeling of Kalamki as a place to stay. Overall the best European holiday we have had. Fantastic apartment, beautiful location. We will be back!

Beautiful modern apartment on the beach in Kalamki with beautiful sunsets and views of the mountains. Renate and Michaelis are excellent hosts, and the apartment has everything you need. This is my second time staying here.
