Το Σεράφειο του Δήμου Αθηναίων είναι ένα μοναδικό συγκρότημα Αθλητισμού Πολιτισμού και Καινοτομίας, 3.500 m2 που περιλαμβάνει πρότυπες αθλητικές και πολιτιστικές εγκαταστάσεις και συγχρόνως φιλοξενεί και τον κόμβο καινοτομίας του Δήμου Αθηναίων.
Το Σεράφειο υποδέχεται μικρούς και μεγάλους, επισκέπτες και κατοίκους, φορείς και συλλογικότητες, συμβάλλοντας ουσιαστικά στην ποιότητα ζωής των κατοίκων. Παράλληλα φιλοξενεί πολλές και διαφορετικές κοινωνικές και πολιτιστικές δράσεις, ανοιχτά εργαστήρια και πρωτοβουλίες τεχνολογικής και κοινωνικής καινοτομίας.
Οι αθλητικές εγκαταστάσεις περιλαμβάνουν ένα υπερσύγχρονο κλειστό κολυμβητήριο με 2 πισίνες κι ένα κλειστό προπονητήριο μπάσκετ, αλλά και ανοιχτά γήπεδα (1 για τέννις, 3 για μπάσκετ και 1 για ποδόσφαιρο 5×5), ενώ στο χώρο φιλοξενείται και μια πρότυπη παιδική χαρά που απευθύνεται σε παιδιά όλων των ηλικιών, με χώρους για παιχνίδι και πρόσβαση σε ΑμεΑ.
Στο κτίριο του Σεραφείου φιλοξενείται ο Κόμβος Καινοτομίας του Δήμου Αθηναίων (This is Athens, Athens Digital Lab, Εργαστήριο ΠΟΙΩ/ Έτσι μαθαίνω καλύτερα, Athens Film Office, ΔΑΕΜ) ενώ διαθέτει σύγχρονες δημόσιες υποδομές- έναν εκθεσιακό χώρο 800 τ.μ., μια αίθουσα R&D (research and development) και μία αίθουσα Τ.Ε.C (technology, engineering, creation) που φιλοξενούν δράσεις, εκθέσεις και εκδηλώσεις από Φορείς, Ιδρύματα, Επιχειρήσεις και Σχολεία.
Στόχος μας, είναι να καλωσορίζουμε καθημερινά κατοίκους και επισκέπτες σε ένα χώρο ανοιχτό, που θα εξελίσσεται διαρκώς μαζί με τις ανάγκες τους προβάλλοντας ένα σύγχρονο όραμα για μια βιώσιμη και προσβάσιμη πόλη.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is not a public pool!!! On a very hot Athens day we eventually found out that this pool and could not have a swim . You need a medical certification to to use this pool. This place is was deserted on a hot Saturday afternoon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's New. 33 m long lanes. A public swimming pool. Eventhough it's public, YOU CAN NOT just walk in and swim!!! since like in all city swimcentres in Greece, one needs to register first in person (not online) providing a face foto, a medical document from two different doctors (generic and dermatologist) that declare you free of diseases! Must be in Greek. ??
The locker room is too small. Not enough cabinets for a municipality swimcentre.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a pretty new cultural centre which was built in 2017 accord to a woman I met there. I had an appointment about the Athens With A Local program and it was great. So I am glad that I had the chance to visit this building. It was really great, and it resembles Stavros Niarchos pretty much. Clean restrooms by the way.
