★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I dragged myself there in 35 degrees with luggage, as stopped over in Athens for 8 hours till another flight. You'd think a swimming pool would be open on a Saturday. In the back of my mind I was thinking: wait, this is Athens, where logic and efficiency is usually cast out the window. I wasn't surprised: arrived there, at 11:35am in SATURDAY, to find that it's CLOSED.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a new facility (pool opened in September 2017), and it is excellent. I have used pools in Paris and Prague when travelling, and this one is way better!
Note for travelers - you need doctors papers to swim (from a dermatologist & cardiologist), so don't even try it if your are in Athens for a couple of days - you will be turned back. Cost: 25EUR per month, or 5EUR per swim. There is free parking - entrance from Piraeus St.
It opens @ 08.00 (1-2 people per lane), but it is less crowded @ 09.00 (1 person per lane). There aren't too many lockers, so you may have to take your stuff with you to the pool.
Since the pool is operated by the municipality of Athens, if you sign up you can use any one of the 4 pools that they have. The open air 50m pool at Goudi is the only one open in August, when the other 3 pools close for the month.
