★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastisk dejligt sted i Kretas Ida Bjerge. Velegnet om udgangspunkt til dagsvandreture til bjergtinderne ad rute E4. Fra landsby ca. 14 km dårlig vej kun farbar med firehjulstrækker eller offroad MC.
Shelteret er ikke åbent altid. Til højeste tinde 2454 m altitude opstigning på ca. 1000 m.
 Great place in Crete's Ida Mountains. Suitable for starting points for day trips to the mountain peaks on route E4. From village approx. 14 km bad road only passable by four-wheel drive or off-road MC.
Shelter is not always open. To the highest peak 2454 m altitude ascent of approx. 1000 m.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ εγώ πήγα εκεί τον Ιανουάριο ως μέρος μιας προσκοπικής εκδρομής. Οι εγκαταστάσεις ήταν πολύ καλές αλλά το καλύτερο κομμάτι ήταν ο "υπεύθυνος" ας τον πούμε. Αυτός ο άνθρωπος μας οδήγησε εκεί μέσα από το χιόνι και χωρίς αυτόν δεν θα φτάναμε πριν το βράδυ. Επίσης έκανε πολλά πράγματα που δεν χρειαζόταν να κάνει αλλά τα έκανε για εμάς όπως το ανάμα της γεννήτριας,ξύλα στην σόμπα και άλλα.
Καταπληκτική εμπειρία.
I went there in January as part of a scouting trip. The facilities were very good but the best part was the "responsible" let's say. This man drove us there through the snow and without him we wouldn't have arrived the night before. He also did many things that he didn't need to do but did for us such as generator lighting, stove wood and more.
Amazing experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Leider nicht offen gehabt. Muss man glaube ich bei dem Bergsteigerverein Kretas bescheid geben. Der Weg zur Hütte sollte nur mit einem Geländewagen gefahren werden. Ist wirklich steinig und unwegsam. Der Aufstieg ist harter Tobak. Geht die ganze Zeit steil bergauf. 3-4 Stunden sind realistisch bis oben. Wanderschuhe die die Knöchel schützen sind auch ratsam wegen dem Geröll.
Unfortunately not open. I think you have to let the mountaineering club of Crete know. The way to the hut should only be driven with an off-road vehicle. Is really rocky and impassable. The ascent is tough stuff. Goes steeply uphill all the time. 3-4 hours are realistic up to the top. Hiking shoes that protect the ankles are also advisable because of the scree.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Μείναμε δύο βράδια. Το καταφύγιο έχει άνετους χώρους και το βράδυ η σόμπα στο δωμάτιο χρειάζεται άναμμα. Κάθε ώρα, αλλά ειδικά το πρωί, η θέα στο Λιβυκό πέλαγος κόβει την ανάσα! Ο Μιχάλης φιλόξενος και το φαγητό εξαιρετικό! Tip: βάλτε τα ψωμάκια του πρωινού να ψηθούν στην ξυλόσομπα
We stayed two nights. The shelter has comfortable spaces and at night the stove in the room needs to be lit. Every hour, but especially in the morning, the view of the Libyan Sea is breathtaking! Michalis is hospitable and the food is excellent! Tip: put the breakfast buns to bake on the wood stove

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best refuge on Psiloritis mountain. Before to go call to EOS Rethimnou when it's open. If you have a tent and mountain equipment you can camp outside .To reach the peak normally needs three to four hours.
