This office does not exist! The Sixt service in Mykonos is terrible. Never again to use it

Terrible experience. I would rate it zeror stars if I could. They asked for our boat arrival time, said a person would be waiting at the port for us, we get there an there was no one. I call Sixt, they said they were going to send someone and that in 15min the person would be there. After 30min, nothing so I call Sixt. They say the person with our car is on their way, but they don’t know where they are because the person’s celphone was turned off. Then a person from Sixt arrives, but he says he came to deliver a car to another person, that my car was on its way. Several other people go talk to the same Sixt person as everyone is waoting for their car. After 1 hour waiting on the sun (no shade at the port) and no updates from the company, the same guy from Sixt walks over after being for 30min delivering a car to someone else (which clearly had some issue with the car) and tells me he has my car: it was in the parking lot all along. So we get to the car and start going over the paperwork. I hand over my New York driver’s license and he says he doesn’t accept it, only International driver’s license. Not his fault, rules are rules, but I have looked over at all the emails from Sixt and NOWHERE does it say I needed an International Driver’s License. (By the way, in Mykonos there are no driving rules, people do what they want, park where they want and drink and drive all day... but you need an International Driver’s License to drink and drive free of punishment) I ended up taking a cab to my hotel, now begins the fight for my refund.

Very bad experience. We picked up a Citroen C1 with some small scratches that were noted. When we left the car intact and with gasoline, they looked for a slight scratch that was already there (we took photos) and they had not pointed to charge us for the repair. I am very careful with this company ... not recommended.

Some patience required. I have been there ahead of the appointed time, but I couldn't find a booth or else in any of the buildings. However I was able to detect a couple of cars from a rental company (not Sixt) in the parking slots in the center of the pier. 15 min after the appointed time I needed to contact Sixt, because no one showed up. About 15 min later an agent was contacting me by Whatsapp, that he will arrive within the next 5 min. It turned out that one of those cars bearing a logo of a local dealer was mine. Both handover and return took place at the parking slot on the pier and had been without problems. This includes my national driver license from an EU country. The car was in good order, too. So I recommend to contact your agent by Whatsapp, etc. latest at time of arrival. Obviously Sixt is running that delivery service from their airport office about 15 min away, and no one there is keen to wait for late clients.

Quite old cars - at least the Fiat 500C I’ve got didn’t even have bluetooth and had noisy gearbox. As usual with Sixt, you have to pay more for insurance, and default excess for non-premium option is too high. Company employee for Meet&Greet (pickup and drop-off at the port) was 30 minutes late on pickup, and 20 minutes late on drop-off, so if you plan to drop off the car last minute before your ferry, allow some time for an agent to arrive.

This is not a physical Sixt location. You need to call Sixt at the airport 1 hour before you plan to arrive at the port and they will send someone to meet you here. Put in Gregory’s cafe as the location in your GPS and it will bring you to the right location. The photo is of the spot where the Sixt employee was waiting for us and the return went smoothly thanks to the previous reviews informing us of previous problems.
