★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Two and a half hours on a bus from Chania (9-11:30) to get to Elafonisi beach. 4 hours there. (11-3/4). And then two and a half hours back. Half your day on the bus for a few hours at the beach. Get a car or direct bus or otherwise stay overnight as the day trip seems to be not worth the hike. The beach is amazing. The drivers who navigate the later roads here are quite skillful since they wind through some perilous driving.
