★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The only thing that saves this hotel is the central location near the metro station! Very rude and unpleasant staff in the reception.It is obvious that they dont like what they are doing and they just grab your money .just a small advice: a friendly smile didnt kill anyone! A tip from a real receptionist!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice clean basic hotel. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. No shower door but apparently this is the same in every room. We managed to shower with out too much mess. Again breakfast was basic but plentiful. Good value for what we paid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel is comfortable and, although quite simple and not recently renovated, the rooms are clean. The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly and we could see they all took pride in their work and looking after the guests. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would certainly recommend the Socrates hotel.

- ahead you have a very large road and you can hear the traffic all night
- Dominican neighbors scream and party all night
- We did not sleep a single hour

The staff is super helpful and caring. They assisted us for the urgen PCR arrangement even!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ People smoke cigarettes inside and it constantly smell everywhere, in the corridor and in the room.
Also, there’s no free breakfast.
Other than that, everything else is fine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent experience: balcony, room cleaned regularly, reception staff polite (Stefan is really friendly and gives good advice about Athens). This is a great hotel for mid- budget in Athens, right opposite Larissa train station which gets you to syntagma & acropolis in 15 mins. Also the bathrooms are fine - clean & hot showers. Saw people moaning about them in reviews unnecessarily- so what they look a bit retro, for the price this place is brilliant! Room is lovely and air con works a treat. Will definitely stay here again ?
