Good restaurant, nice atmosphere, good service. Always a smile and very important, no kamaki (try to talk you inside). I hate that.

So nice! Great food and amazing hospitality. The decorations are greek as it can be, so you get the whole cultural experience with matching food and drinks.

Kalamari were nice (cooked from frozen as in most places though). Good fries and surprisingly not over cooked rice, side veg not looking great though. Cheese saganaki was nice, fried aubergine would be perfect but unfortunately it had way too much salt on it and we had to send it back. Pity as it was really done perfectly, I don't know why put a salt on it as usually it is already salted slightly before frying and there is salt on the table of you want some more. Overall good food, might do a second visit.

Today, me and my friends had a road trip to Malia, since it was a popular destination near Herakleion. On our way, we sought for local greek taverns from the trip advisor. Despite the fact "Socrates" did not ranked the highest, we loved the name and the decoration of it, that's why we choosed it. Well, the truth is that by the moment we arrived, the owner (Mr. Antonis) captivated us with his great hospitality skills and service. The food portions were great, the prices were more than decent and the flavours were as expected. Breathtakingly. We definitely recommend you to visit and have a bite at "Socrates" and experience the Greek hospitality from Mr Antonis, his wife and the rest of the staff. Last but not least, please, do yourself a favour and get these meatballs!!!!!! My gosh, the were amazing!!!!! PS. Watermelon with Raki (Cretan alcohol) is served at the end.

Nice familiar tavern, quite cheap, we had a very good saganaki, super fried squids and a gyros pita. This last dish was not excellent since the meat is cut with knife so it results a little bit hard to eat. Anyway it’s tasty. The personnel is very kind.
