These caves were an unexpected find but definitely worth visiting. Whilst visiting Dryopida and looking around the village we were looking for the caves but kept walking around in circles. Finally we asked a girl in the bakery where were the caves and she actually took us directly to the caves. Thanks Katarina. It is free to go into the caves and a young Greek lad called Christos took us on a tour explaining everything about the caves. It was very interesting with lots of excellent history. The tour only lasts about 20 to 30 minutes but is definitely worth going to. There is a tip box on the way out to put some money in. It's a small price for an excellent tour

Definately a MUST visit in the isalnd of Kythnos. The village of Dryopida is a gem and the guided tour in the Katafiki cave was a great getaway from the morning heat! The guided tour was 15 minutes, the perfect time to spend in the coolness of the cave. It is an experience both for adults and kids alike!

The parts of the cave that are open for visitors are quite impressive. Due to mining that has been going on until the 1940s most of the stalactites and stalagmites are unfortunately gone but it's worth to see it anyway. The temperature inside is really nice at 17 °C! The tour (also in English) takes about 15 minutes, there are no set time for tours - as soon as you're there it starts. If you're in Kythnos you should go and see it, as well as the lovely village of Dryopida that's next to it. There's no entrance fee but a donation box.

Once you get there (not easy to find!) you have a very nice visit of the cave with very friendly staff! You learn about the history of the mining and see some nice rock formations. It’s not comparable to the big caves in other places, but we liked it very much nevertheless. Entry is free, there is a donation box at the exit :-)

Beautiful cave with loads of history the tour and trip there is completely free but there is a tip box on the way back. The tour guides were great as they even spoke in English for us to understand. Must see if your in Kythnos

An essential visit during your stay in Kythnos. The guided tour lasted about 15 minutes and it was pretty impressive and detailed. Free entrance, with the option of donations. It's not the experience of a lifetime, but it is definitely worth your time!

A very picturesque spot by the traditional village of Dryopida, a cave where natural beauty meets the ingenuity of man. A guided tour lasts 15 minutes and is ideal for a quick travel through the recent history of the island. Moreover it costs nothing. Many heartfelt thanks to our guide Mariana who answered all our questions and sparked our interest!
