This cave has been boosted and brought into its religious life by Father Evangelos Sfakianakis who among other dedicated his life on safeguarding Spilia’s village historic and religious heritage. You can visit the ancient church of Evangelist Ioannis and admire the nice view towards the Cretan sea and the cave ‘s opening from the other side. It’s not difficult to reach and is absolutely safe to visit even with young children, provided the usual attention! There are no admission fees and it’s an enjoyable visit without any doubt!
