Magical and beautiful place, and the lady that works in the monastery church is an Angel.

An awesome place, a must for travellers in Paros. there is a panoramic view and is possible to visit the Monaster. It's possible to go up to the monaster with a car but the road is very narrow and it'sa bit dangerous. Not recommended with small quad or bikes. No access for handicap.

A wonderful tiny monastery with an absolutely beautiful view. Don't miss out if you are in the area. You can literally oversee everything from here. Unless you love hiking there is a good road to drive up the mountain. Most of street is paved, at least all steep parts which makes the car ride quite comfortable.

It's probably the top view point on the island. Monastery and the history of the fortress is also amazing. Road or hike to the top is an option so there is no logic argument against getting there during the visit to Paros.

Best part of the island for us! Incredible! We drove 95% of the way up on our rented ATV, which was just incredible!

Hiking/Driving up to the Monastery is a must! The view is incredible and the monastery is beautiful… the photos don’t do it justice!

The St. Anthony monastery was along with Lefkes (see that review) the most amazing thing we've visited on this island. It's set on the eastern coast, rising above the sea just across Naxos island. No chance to miss it when driving this coast road as it's perched on top of Kephalos hill. The present day Monastery sits on a medieval Venetian castle remains dating back to 15c, after when it was demolished by invading Ottomans in the 16c. The Monastery is built on a site of the main Assumption Church (out of 9 small churches within the castle) and started to operate in 17c. The three-aisled Basillica is dedicated to St. Anthony and inside are terrific frescoes and the marble altar from that era. Views from here are stunning, as it's the Paros highest point (and pilgrimage site). You can see the entire island, as well Naxos (see my pic of Naxos' Portara captured from here). BEWARE: - you need a car to reach it (or a very difficult hike up if you don't have it). The road is pretty dangerous - very steep and narrow, so drive with extra caution. - the Church is open daily only 6 PM - 8 PM, so do come then - you'll catch an amazing sunset as well
