β β β β β Stayed 12 nights in April 2015 in Villa Thalia at this spectacular location. Everything starting to bloom on Crete, no crowds yet, sheep and goats and birds are all you can hear. The views are absolutely amazing. Roula is a superb hostess who treated us to seriously good homemade baked goods and moussaka throughout our stay. The fridge in the villa was stocked for our arrival right down to the beer and wine. Linens and memory foam beds were great. Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. We rent villas around the world every year and this is most definitely worth a return visit. Treat yourself to this wonderful retreat!

β β β β β We stayed here for a week and It was one of those memorable holidays, one of the main reasons is because of the hosts. As we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly man who showed us around and later brought us dinner made by his lovely wife Roula, it was the most delicious Mousaka I have ever had!
Stephano was so helpful with information we needed for our stay. We knew where to go and what to do because of his knowledge of Crete, and when we were tired of our trips we stayed at the villa and had the most relaxing time
The villa beautiful, as you walk down to the villas you are greeted with an overwhelming smell of different types of plants and trees. It has traditional designs with arched walls and balconies, it was like being welcomed into a Greek family's home. Everything you needed was there, cleaning products, fresh towels and sheets, anything and everything you may need in a kitchen, and of course all the basic food and condiments needed.
The outside is a little bit of heaven. Being high on a mountain was glorious, the plants and trees were a breath of fresh air. You can hear the birds chirping and swishing of the trees - the most relaxing and peaceful sound you can hear. We had our own BBQ area which we used once and was such a fun thing to do on holiday. The area is so child friendly too, they have a big playground with slides and swings as well as toys, and also there is a swimming pool that on the warmer days is just perfect. Little kittens walk around and are all friendly and the cutest, I would definitely come back here for a family holiday as I cant imagine a place more child friendly than this.
I would really like to thank Stephanos and Roula for hosting us and giving us everything we needed. They holiday wouldnt have been what it was without their hospitality.

β β β β β Thanks to Stefano his wife and family. We stayed in the retreat early September and they were all so helpful. Thank you for driving us to the nearby restaurant , the bbq you did for us on the Thursday night the Greek dancing lesson your lovely wife gave us and the gift of the olive oil. It all made our holiday so enjoyable.

β β β β β One of the hidden gems on the island of Crete. Typical Greek villas, mega-comfortable, well organized, cosy and clean. The hosting couple is just adorable and they know how to make their guest feel extra welcome. From a few basics like bread and some toppings in the fridge, to get you going on your first day, to the fruit from the surrounding trees that is there just for you to take to the raki which makes the superb view from the terrace at nightfall even more enjoyable. Just perfect!!

β β β β β We stayed for a week, but wish it could be longer. Wonderful villas, incredible views. This is the type of location that you want to keep secret so no one else finds it. There's nothing better than having a swim in the two wonderful pools, firing up the one two large BBQs, sipping a glass of your favourite tipple on your balcony/terrace and just reaching out and picking a bunch of grapes, a few figs or some fresh fresh lemons or peaches. And the care and attention to detail of the site and the villas is second to none.

β β β β β We are at Stefan and Rula's St George's Retreat Village a second time. The individual houses are lovely, the hillside setting is amazing. We both love walking the lane in front of the Retreat, beautiful, quiet, serene. And you get to make new (very wooly) friends.
