★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Το Λιοντάρι του Πειραιά, ή ο Λέων του Πειραιώς, είναι ένα μαρμάρινο γλυπτό, ύψους υπέρ των 3 μέτρων το οποίο βρισκόταν στον μυχό του λιμένα του Πειραιά μέχρι το 1687 όταν το απήγαγε ο Δόγης της Γαληνοτάτης Δημοκρατίας της Βενετίας Φραγκίσκος Μοροζίνη. Από την επιβλητική παρουσία του μνημείου, ο λιμένας ονομαζόταν και Πόρτο Λεόνε (Porto Leone), γνωστός και ως σήμερα με αυτή την ονομασία.
Σήμερα το γλυπτό αυτό βρίσκεται στην είσοδο του ναυστάθμου της Βενετίας, ενώ στον Πειραιά, στο σημείο από όπου απήχθη το γλυπτό, έχει τοποθετηθεί ένα αντίγραφό φιλοτεχνημένο από τον γλύπτη Γιώργο Μέγκουλα και βρίσκεται στην είσοδο του λιμανιού, στη λεγόμενη «μπούκα» με σκοπό την ανταλλαγή και την τοποθέτηση του πραγματικού στη θέση του.
The Lion of Piraeus, or the Lion of Piraeus, is a marble sculpture, 3 meters high, which was located in the interior of the port of Piraeus until 1687 when it was abducted by the Doge of the Most Peaceful Republic of Venice, Francis Morosini. From the imposing presence of the monument, the port was also called Porto Leone (Porto Leone), known to this day by this name.
Today this sculpture is located at the entrance of the port of Venice, while in Piraeus, at the point where the sculpture was abducted, a copy made by the sculptor George Megoulas has been placed and is located at the entrance of the port, in the so-called "bouka" for exchange and placing the real in its place.
