★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Planned to stay for two nights we ended up staying four, due exclusively to the beautiful beach (under the gaze of the imposing castle) and the super-nice weather.
The room for two people was spacious enough and the balcony overloocked the rather neglected grounds due I suspect to the end of season.
A few remarks that I could make on cleanliness I think did not diminish the overall pleasure we had.
The Staff and the owner very frendly and helpful.
The beach in front of the hotel is not the best, actually is very bad with a lot of rocks in and out the water. I had a nasty cut on my thigh the very first day
and after that we only went to the fantastic Frangokastello's beach.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spacious room. Garden and beach almost private. Quiet and pleasant. It only needs some bathroom innovation to be a perfect place to stay near Chora Sfakion and Frangokatello.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of the rare examples of Cretan unhospitality. From the moment we arrived we felt unwelcome. The room had an awful smell that we couldn't get rid of and the refrigerator just didn't let us sleep during the night. Also the sea is very rocky and rough, not very pleasant to swim. An overall awful experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yes the rooms are dated apart from the kitchen. But taking into account the value for money I would stay there again.
In front of the hotel with direct access lays a beautiful small beach with loads of life, fish, crabs and corals which give the beach a reddish color just like Elafonisi.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Stavris studios is a decent one and if you don't luxuries, you will appreciate it. There is a nice garden just in front of the sea. The mattresses are good but the pillows need replacement immediately. Air conditioning and refrigerator are quite and that is a big plus.
