Geia sou :) Very lovely location with a super friendly family as hosts! Sitting under lemon trees in an old, beautiful taverna, smelling the wood-fired oven, prepairing the moussaka... if you get or want to an typical crete old town and enjoy life, you need to get there! Eukharistó :)

We visited this restaurant during our holiday to Crete. The lady in the shop down the road pointed us in the direction of her families restaurant which was hidden from the Main Street. When we arrived we were so impressed by the beautiful restaurant we stayed for dinner having only intended to stop for a drink. This is a truly traditional family run restaurant. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Having read the other reviews there are a lot of complaints about pushy staff and it being over priced but do not let this put you off. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Yes the waitress was enthusiastic with her recommendations but everything we had was spot on. The mains are served on small plates but the food is so rich and of great quality that we were very full after our meal considering we all have big appetites. Our total bill was 140 euro for starters, mains and two drinks each for four adults, if you think this is expensive then I don’t know where you usually eat but that’s pretty standard prices in my opinion. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant, the calamari and the kleftiko in particular were to die for!

The grilled octopus we got was rock solid, served cold. Felt like it was reheated from a week ago. Also the home made bread was like 3 days old.

One of the most prettiest restaurants in Crete. Authentic, surrounded by beautiful trees, whitewashed walls and Greek music. This place is very photogenic from every angle. The family are friendly however slightly pushy in terms of making money. I ordered the octopus, it was delicious however I wish the meat came out hot and not cool. The home-made lemonade is delicious. Slightly expensive.

After 12 years we came back to this restaurant to see if it was still fantastic,I give 4 stars because it could be a bit better, because it was just open they did not have everything so I had moussaka and stuff wine leaves and my husband souflaki. The moussaka needs more flavor it was a bit plain and the wine leaves were nice and warm perfect, the souflaki was a bit hard but not dry and it could be a little bit more on the plate and les salade some more chips would be better for the price, it looks more a plate for a big kid not for a grown up. Water you pay for,all extras you pay for like bread and salad (we did not want it) but they do say as if you get it free(you get bread and water free in a lot of restaurants so keep that in mind) family working there little bit pushy but its still a nice restaurant to go to. One more thing pizzas and pasta are not fresh made, the rest on the menu is and there is a wood oven now. It's a bit pricey we paid 42 euro, this in other places max 30 euro and bread and water would be for free and portions souflaki bigger.
