Taverna Asterias - Άκρας Μίνωας και Λακεδαιμονίων Γέφυρα

We had the greak salad, spag bol and an aubergine dish that was absolutly loverly. Seamed cheaper than the ones on the rock, with great veiws.

Food is OK, service is terrible. We ordered pasta. They said they cannot do it because the chef is out of duty. So we changed our order to something else. Ten minutes later they said they can do the pasta!!! Prices also to hi... not happy...

Taverna Asterias is our favorite place to eat in Monemvasia. The food is always tasty, the location is perfect and the owners are friendly and helpful.

This is the most wonderful place on earth to eat food and to stroll around afterwards, so long as you are careful. We sat at a table on the edge of the beach with turquoise seawater and we were served by two attentive people. One was a gorgeous lady whose full time occupation was in the pharmaceutical industry. She was nice, very nice. The other waiter was a guy who was sociable, enthusiastic and well mannered. Monemvasia is perhaps one of the most beautiful places in Hellas. I would recommend this place as being well worth the trip. Make sure you stay overnight. There's a lot to see and you can't do it all in one day. Beware the dangerous drivers when you are walking across to the other side of the street at a pedestrian crossing. The drivers won't stop for you and they don't care if they run you over and kill you. There is a desperate need for the police to enforce the vehicular traffic law here. I saw one policeman in a crappy little car with a broken headlamp. He looked scruffy and he was smoking a cigarette. He also needed to shave. The Hellenic Police should realize that visitors from many overseas nations expect vehicles to stop at pedestrian crossings. Don't wait for someone to be killed. Do your job now.

I recommend Taverna Asterias because all the time the food was fresh and very tasty and you can find a variety of fish, steaks and traditional Greek dishes. Also the owners Giannis and Felicia are wonderful hosts. The location is right on the beach with an amazing view of the Monemvasia rock.

Very good location directly on the beach. Very late to serve. Food is fine but nothing exceptional

The food and the view were very nice, the portions though not worthy for the price in my opinion.

Visited on the 2nd June 2022. Perfect location, average food (not at all bad but not super).. Fair prices, friendly service
