★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don’t think I fully appreciated Taverna Gorgona until I tried the sardine fillets at another Greek seafood restaurant and realized they didn’t come close to Gorgona’s. I guess I thought all sardine fillets in Greece were a revelation, the kind that make you almost giddy when they hit your tongue? But no. Taverna Gorgona is something special. Their eggplant salad (not pictured) was also delicious, alone or on bread. And, as many others have said, their service was excellent - friendly, helpful, with good recommendations. I don’t know if I’ll ever find myself in Nea Makri again, but if I do, it might just be to eat here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrible place. Don’t go there. I have been coming to Greece frequently since 1976. This is one of the three worst restaurants I have ever experienced during my about 40 times I have visited Greece. Ordered fresh squid. Tasted like something it is best to give to the cat. Not sure they survive it. On top of that. Service was horrible. On top of that top the price was absolutely outrageous. Big warning!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have to say, this restaurant -- for me -- had a beautiful layout and was conveniently located by the three hotels that are on the beach. I did not stay in the hotels but enjoyed everything else they had to offer.
