★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very cozy and nice place with kind and friendly owners, the food is very tasty - there's a real difference with Heraklion/Sitia, even the vegetables and oil in the salad. Dunno how is it possible, but fact. Recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chandra has exactly 2 taverns and one of them is Marika. As the other one Marika is situated on the main street of Chandra. However, it is quiet and peaceful there because there is hardly traffic that is coming through Chandra.
You can sit at the tavern under some beautiful olive trees. The staff can hardly speak English or German but that should not bother as they are friendly, patient and you as you can make yourself somehow understandable e.g. by showing what you want on the menu card.
The food is fresh and tasty and comes in big portions, so be advised to order just one Greek salad for 2 people.
The prize for such good food is just fantastic. You can absolutely not complain about it, although they are nowhere written, not even on the menu card.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This tavern is in a lovely little village. However, we weren't overly impressed with the coffee or frappe that we were served. The owner was very pleasant and offered us mulberries from the tree where we were sat. They were tasty and sweet.
