★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Exotic! Great food. This is real Crete. Drive in this breathtaking landscape and be rewarded by this genuine oasis where the waiter does not speak much English. Pancakes with cheese and honey was a treat!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Genuine Cretan Taverna! Worths the visit. The road from the beach that leads up to Kallikratis is breathtaking. The environment is so unique! The people at the taverna are so kind and warm hearted. It's a family owned place. They have some unique and peculiar cretan dishes that you won't find elsewhere, like lamd cooked with myzithra cheese & "Gardoumakia". The latter is a dish made with lamb intenstines. You have to be brave enough to taste it... If you are into light / healthy eating, you should better order "Vlita" salad or a Greek salad. They are served with olive oil, but that's the good kind. The rest of the dishes are "heavy" in terms of calories.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A perfect taverna with the best lamb and mizitra cheese in Crete, high up in the mountain and in the evenings gets a bit cold.The road up is one of the most picturesque and challenging in europe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Please please go up there to eat. Lovely village in the mountains, very true and genuine taverna. I had lamb with local cheese and tzigaristo. Both great. Way better than any touristic restaurant down the coast, if you want to eat meat
