Τα περασμένα χρόνια παρατηρείται μια μεγάλη παρακμή μετά τον πόλεμο κ.α.
Τα τελευταία 3-4 χρόνια ο Μακαριότατος Αρχιεπίσκοπος Αθηνών και πάσης Ελλάδος Ιερώνυμος ξεκινήσε να το αναστειλονει και τώρα βρίσκεται σε φάση μεταβατική.
Είναι σε απόσταση 3-4 χιλιόμετρα από το παραλιακό χόριο Σαράντι που είναι πολύ καλός καλοκαιρινός προορισμός....

Το μοναστήρι ωστόσο, παλιό και επιβλητικό, όταν γίνει λειτουργικό και ανοιχτό στο κοινό ξανά θα φέρει και την άνθιση της περιοχής του Προδρόμου. Γενικά αξίζει κάθε επίσκεψη και κάθε λεπτό εκεί.
