★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taxiarchis is an old traditional Greek tavern that remains untouched by time, modern food trends and tourism influences. This place is as traditional as it can get. The tavern is located at the village Katochori with a picturesque view of Lefkada's mountain tops.
Original Greek grilled meats and spit roasts, prepared by the skillful butcher and owner mr Taxiarchis (hence the tavern name). There are also some traditional home cooked dishes on the menu.
Portions were very generous and everything was delicious! Prices were very-very reasonable. At the end, as a surprise, they treated us with a platter of water melon and some scrumptious, freshly prepared, homemade dessert.
The tavern opens after 7 pm in the evening. It definitely worth a visit if you nearby, or even a designated trip during your stay in Lefkada.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were recommended to try this place out and it was not dissapointing! The best grilled meat we ate in Greece! This restaurant in a small mountain village with friendly staff, big portions and an excellent music choice is a must do if you visit Lefkada island.
