★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Family-run pottery workshop through seven generations with beautiful, high-quality goods at reasonable prices. We were welcomed by Konstantine and had a very interesting time in their shop. Kournas is a lovely little village in the hills above Georgioupolis, a trip here is highly recommended if you are interested in ceramic products beyond the souvenirs you find in more touristic areas. The products are dishwasher safe with non-toxic glazing, so they are perfect for serving food. We will definitely go back later. Also, please be aware that a negative review may be fake, as small business owners sometimes experience blackmailing from devious visitors wanting the owners to gift them goods in exchange for a good review. If they refuse, a fake negative review is given.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Edit: an hour after writing this review I sent the friends that we are travelling with to this shop and they had an awful experience- they were rudely asked if they were going to buy anything “because English people always browse and never buy” (?!) and then made to feel really unwelcome.
So I guess it’s just pot luck what mood you get from the owner when you arrive?!

Gorgeous shop - the owner is 7th generation ceramicist and has so much information and interesting conversation! He’s fluent in Italian, English and French which is also very impressive. We need to buy a new suitcase to carry home all of our purchases ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good quality ceramics and earthenware sold by an owner who knows how to friendly chat you into buying his exclusive patented salt cellars and items glazed with his own personal colours. Same type of good quality earthenware on the square of the village of Gavalochori too.
