When you are looking for a great Restaurant near Sparta, Greece, be sure to get away from the hustle bustle of Sparta, with all the parking problems and traffic congestion, and drive a short distance up the mountain to the lovely village of Mystra. There you will find THE GREEK restaurant in the Mystra Inn. It is located right on the village square, where you will find all the activity of charming Greek Village life. This is a fantastic restaurant with authentic Greek food, including the best lamb, beef and pork roasts with roasted potatoes I have found anywhere! Relax and enjoy wonderful Greek food by the warmth of the fire, in an ideal setting or enjoy eating outside with a wonderful view of the old Mystra castle up the mountain. You will enjoy every minute of your dining experience there, and the prices won’t break your travel budget! You’ll know that you are in the real Greece, charming and untarnished by the rat race of the larger cities and towns. John, Tom and Sofia are wonderful hosts, and will take great care of you while you are there. After dining, be sure to go across the square to visit Maria at the icon shop to view and purchase Greek icons created with the ancient techniques. Maria also has worry beads, and other lovely souvenirs to save your memories of Mystra. Next to Maria’s shop is a wonderful bakery with the best hand made pastries for miles around. I travel to Greece often, and never miss the chance to stay at my little Mystra Inn haven, with its “Oh so tasty” authentic Greek food restaurant to enjoy all the charm it has to offer!!! Don’t miss it! And don’t forget to buy some of their olive oil before you go! It is excellent!

I wasn't sure which restaurant should I choose but fortunately I made the ideal choice. The roasted pork in combination with the roasted potatoes (wonderful lemon sense) and the greek salad with the delicious feta, made me feel why fresh, homemade, appopriate cooking completed by the traditional way using your handmade bio 'n clean materials make the difference. Honestly, I recommend you to visit "The Greek" when you are in Mystras square. Worth to start your day tasting your breakfast at the specific restaurant before roaming the castle and sights. Cool local wine and the regional "Sparta lager Beer" will be there to enjoy when you return after the tiring visit of the site. A perfect dinner in the centre of the former capital of Byzantium enjoying the traditional Greek cuisine in front of the -all but 1000 years existing- exciting castle view, is a moment that you will never forget or regret. Regarding to the staff and service the-gentleness, attractiveness with feeling and empath up tempo ceaselessly action , between the cheerful, beaming with great fluency and concentration to avoid mistakes at the same time in a full crowded place made me feel distinct when it was my time to be served. After finishing the food they will always treat you a remarkable dessert. That's very kind. To sum up, visiting this restaurant started as a recommendation of a friend from my Spanish agnate but now it ended up as a MUST in my next -God willing- visit in Mystras. We stayed in their Inn upstairs, so we had to try their restaurant as well. The traditional Greek fare is very good. Portions are generous and everything tastes great. Staff is nice!

The lamb which the owner recommended us was over salted, souvlaki were dry and rose was bad.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant! The restaurant itself is in a beautiful location and is cozy and warm. The food was exceptionally delicious, best we’ve had so far in Greece. The lamb and potatoes in the oven was perfectly cooked. The moussaka was delicious, best ever. We devoured our food and forgot to take pics, except the fruit, which was the sweetest we’ve had. It’s a family owned restaurant and the original family runs it. They are kind, warm, friendly, like family. True Greek hospitality. I highly recommend this restaurant if u are ever in Sparti.

We were a group of 9 hungry travellers! Service was great and the food was fantastic. I would definitely go back if I came this way again.
