★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A really nice and quiet place to chill and enjoy some local food (typical Cretan cuisine). The place is more of a "taverna" and traditional coffee shop (kafenio). Things to try: Mpoureki (zucchini and potato souffle with local fresh cheese, oven baked in small clay pots), "Tsigariasto Kouneli" (rabbit pot roast served with fresh french fries), Dakos (cretan salad with rusks, grated tomatoes and fresh cheese) and more. Bonus points for the nice playground they have setup for the kids across the stream.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Traveling through Crete we stopped by this small restaurant by the river. On hot day we rest a bit in shade of trees and got coffee , fresh orange juice and cake. Everything was great. Recommended !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing traditional Cretan food in really huge portions. That The prices are also cheap (2 main dishes, fried eggs and a salad=25 euros). I truly recommend it.
