★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a wonderful surprise. We ended here by chance because we rented a room just next to it. This is the best restaurant we had during our two weeks trip in Greece. Very authentic, made with fresh food. Finally a restaurant that does not offer 50 different dishes. It even tells you what's left (we were there late) which means the food is really fresh.
I had the best moussaka ever and the stuffed vegetables were just divine. We regretted just we had to leave the next morning because we would have loved to try some more dishes!
Moreover, the girl there speaks a perfect English and is very welcoming.
Oh! One more thing! This is also the cheapest restaurant we did on our trip!
Seriously, just go there! :-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing local and fresh food in the nice town of Kandanos. The meat pie with cheese was heavenly! Nice service fluently spoken in English ... Shame we have to go tomorrow, because the other dishes sounded great too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have traveled to Crete many times over the years and every time we always plan a day around dining at the wonderful Platia Kandanos after a day at the beautiful beaches of nearby Paleochora, as the quality of offerings and service are second to none. You must go there and enjoy the most delicious of traditional and creative dishes of the Isle crafted by the Kastrinakis family.
