Very impressed with this hotel; great location, decent rooms (loved the balcony), and amazing breakfast with local produce.

Beds are the worst quality you can find. Annoying for this kind of hotel. Its like $20 mattresses. Breakfast is good though.

Terrible terrible behavior from this hotel! They “don’t care!” and it is “not their problem” so now I have no hotel in Tinos! On July 9 I booked A NON REFUNDABLE offer on the Tinion hotel website for August 19, 20, 21, 22. Full immediate payment – my credit card “pre authorized” and blocked the amount so I thought “I am done here” so did not check again. THEY DID NOT PROCESS THE PAYMENT UNTIL AUGUST 11 and at that time I had “insufficient funds” (BUT I THOUGHT THEY HAD BEEN PAID). On August 13 at 1pm they emailed me my booking had been cancelled AND THE ROOM HAD BEEN GIVEN AWAY. I am very upset - I had emailed them about being picked up from the port, I asked about the room and if they could find me a scooter for those dates......on August 13 they tell me the payment did not go through and they have already given the room to someone else! This is not serious behavior – this hotel is run by unprofessional people. I strongly recommend NOT to book this hotel….. If the owner of this hotel replies that it was my fault DON’T BELIEVE HIM! WHEN I BOOKED THE NON REFUNDABLE ROOM I GOT CONFIRMATION BECAUSE THE FUNDS WERE AVAILABLE and had been "blocked" as "Pre Authorized"! IT IS THEIR FAULT THAT THEY PROCESSED THE PAYMENT LATE AND DID NOT BOTHER TO EMAIL ME with the problem because “why should they bother?”……TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE

Historical & classy family-owned business, friendly management & the best breakfast buffet in town. Don't let some minor niggles mentioned in other reviews distract you - it's just the patina of times passed. My favorite stay when in Tinos.

Ceiling Collapse I stayed at the Tinion Hotel starting January 28, 2020. Shortly after I went to bed (Room 19), a large section of the ceiling collapsed onto one of the beds in the room. The only reason I was not killed is that I picked a different bed in the room, by chance. The sound of the ceiling crashing down was so intense that the entire hotel came out to see what happened. Following the incident, I moved to share a room with a friend of mine who was also at the hotel. I suppose it’s worth mentioning that during this time of year there were very few hotel options available — which is why changing hotels was not a feasible option. You would think based on everything that happened, the owner would have followed up or expressed some concern towards me. There was no follow up. He never apologized. Not once did he ask how I was doing in the days that followed. And upon checkout, while he didn’t charge me for my room (…since I didn’t stay there), he did make sure to increase the rate on my friend’s room from a “single” rate, to a higher “double occupancy” rate. You can only imagine my shock and terror following the incident. Ultimately I’m writing this review because the owner failed to act in even a half decent manner throughout this incident. He never took responsibility for what happened. And his dismissive comments made clear he wasn’t fully aware of the quality of some work that was done at his hotel. This review should act as a warning to other travelers that a potentially deadly safety incident happened at the Tinion Hotel, and to make others aware of the careless and ungracious behavior of the owner. It is inexcusable.
