Donoussa Ferry Tickets

Donousa is the beloved island of free campers and not only. According to locals, someone could cross the whole island in 5 hours.

There are 4 small villages on the island: Stavros, which is the port and the capital, Mesaria, the green Mersini with its running waters, and Kalotaritissa with its amazing beaches.

On the hill of Stavros the chapel of Panagia looms, built in the late 19th c. It is a place ideal for enjoying the sunset. The free campers can use the beach of Kedros, where camping is allowed by the municipal authorities.

Besides, visitors can explore the remains of the German destroyer “Orion”, which was sunk during the 2nd World War, and nowadays lies on the seabed of Donousa.

Generally, although it is a small island, there it is nothing less compared to larger Aegean islands. It is worth tasting the traditional dish patatato (boiled potatoes with goat meat), pitaria (small pies) with pepper marsh. Fried gigantes (large beans) with batter and always accompanied by local rakomelo (a mixed alcoholic drink made by raki, honey and some regional spices or herbs).

In Donousa there is the well-known Fokospilia, one of the last shelters in Southern Aegean for the seal Monachus Monachus.

Don't go here for your ferry ticket, they charged us 12 euro for printing all our tickets - scandalous! 5 of us onboard the ferry now and none of us with seats together even though we paid extra for it - a less than useless service from this company.

The store is nice and has a better image than most others in the port. However, it is very disorganized and the personnel lacks basic communication skills. We went to collect our tickets, the system was down but they had people queuing anyways instead of letting people know and save time. The owner bounced back and forth giving random orders to customers and personnel and only increasing entropy. If you can avoid this place, do it

Be careful!!!!!! Thouroughly charmless staff at front desk. Charged me to print tickets which was not necessary... Had a scowl on her like a well slapped arse

Very rude and unfriendly woman attending the customers. They changed our ticket due to bad weather condition (which is of course normal) but all the instruction we were given were not right, including the fact we have been granted a seat that in reality was not available on the ship. Try to avoid.

BEWARE OF FAKE EXTRA CHARGES! We bought tickets from Seajets online and he ripped us off by requesting "ticket printing charges and collection" even though it was clearly stated Free by the company.

2 euros for printing a ticket while their colleagues told me that I won't be charged for that. Also some kind of smile instead of chewing a gum while you help me wouldn't be bad...
