No service. No feedback from doctors. People have to take care of their patients themselves days and night, e.g. wash them, feed them, bring clothes from home as well as towels and such.Staff does their jobs slowly and are non caring. Everything is very old and untidy.

The hospital is good and the doctors there are nice. Especially in the NICU unit. But in the rest of the place if you want the best care from the nurses, you better tip them!

Despite the overall good service, today story is just absurd. They have put a vein butterfly to my daughter using a wrong cap and my baby (1 year old) lost half litre of blood before I discovered the lake of blood in the buggy. Few more minutes would have caused serious issues or death. When angry as you can imagine we asked reasons for this the nurse just replied "it's fine"... No worries. At the end of the day my child Life was at stake and not her belongings so who cares? She won't lose the job either so at the end she couldn't be less worried. Not even an apology. Careless service

Unfortunately due to Covid we could only visit the NICU once a week however, we were stress free as we knew from the start our baby was in excellent hands. Very professional, explained everything along the way.

I am a born Kefalonitisa but resides in America. I was taken to the emergency for high fever. I am very impressed with the whole operation. The best in their field and the kindest, politest, professionals buy yet compassionate. I have been to John Hopkins University Hospital in MA and did not receive such care and qualified best doctors, nurses, assistants, etc Personally I would travel to either hospital in Heraklion from other pars of Greece.

Anyone travelling on holiday to crete. Beautiful county but if there is any medical emergency please do not go to this hospital. If you have small kids that are having any issues such as a bump on head use the other hospital on the island meant to be so much better for kids. My youngest had a serious fall and bumped her head the staff at Alabtross phoned this hospital and they said they'd take our wee one to have a look at her. She is 8 months old and obviously cannot walk. It cost us 50 euro to get a taxi with a screaming baby amd when we arrived at hospital we gave reception passports and insurance documents. Needs to be paper btw they don't accept photographs of the application. Anyway we were taken to the room with what we thought were doctors. They said can your baby WALK to me. I said no she is 8 months. Also said we cannot take her because the hospital is closed. You need to go to the other hospital 15 minutes away. They will take you. Luckily we had a taxi driver translating for us who could not believe what he was hearing. They said our baby was fine even though they did absolutely nothing. They also said my wife had to send them the insurance number by email so they can claim the money from our NHS. For absolutely nothing. Disgrace of a health system in such a great country.
