Villa Achilles - Λιβροχιό

We all loved this villa. We were there for 2 weeks, at the quiet end of September, and the villa had everything we needed: good rooms, great sea-facing patio, wonderful balcony on the top floor, which however we rarely used because we would all be on the patio! Then there is the excellent sand beach, just in front of you, less than 100 metres away. A very short walk, up and over, brings you into the village, with attractive bay views on the way, to a very nice café and then three beach-side restaurants – the middle one is the best-and busiest. There is a good fish market too, brought in by the small fishing fleet in the port there. So, the location is excellent: beach in front, small village nearby, Agios Nikolaos ‘mountain’ village only a mile away with lovely square and tavernas, and an excellent major seaside town, Nikiti, with everything – and the biggest market -- only 10 minutes away. On different days of the week there are markets all over Sithonia, which gave some of us an additional reason excuse to travel to lovely villages and some excellent restaurants, both north and south of us. There are extraordinary finds everywhere – like the cream shop in Sarti, ‘Galateria Italiana’ which makes its own superb Italian ice on the premises, the best I ever tasted. Feelslikehome go out of their way to provide a good vacation experience, and the star of our holiday was Thanasis, who was always engaging and wonderfully helpful, and contributed hugely to our feeling of being at home there – he even took care of a lost dog that wandered in! We are going back next year - and we have never gone back anywhere before, normally because we think we will not get as much enjoyment the second time, but this time we think that knowing the area and Sithonia better, we can get more out of it, not less! I still need to find a good fishing spot…
