Villa Amfiario - EO Oiou Amfiariou

We highly recommend the venue Villa Amfiarios! An amazing spacious property with breathtaking views, a perfect location close to the airport, close to Athens and in a walking distance from the blue sea. Our stay was beyond perfection. We booked a stay for 10 people (5 couples). We each had a double room. Luxurious, very comfortable beds, high standards of cleanliness, 3 couples had to share a bathroom but this was no problem at all. After each use, the housekeeping came in between to clean the bathroom so that the next couple could use the bathroom as if it was for private use. Very well done by the way! We organised a stay a la carte with sightseeing, relaxation and a vineyard visit. The vineyard tour at the Lazaridi Estate was a great experience, a bike tour through the vineyard, a wine museum to visit and the tasting of top notch greek wines. We were very happy we took this in our program. A must DO! The sightseeing program, what can i say, Greece is an amazing country and has so many highlights to show. We enjoyed Athens of course, we enjoyed the boat trip to Evoia but our favourite was the Lake Vouliagmeni. Relaxation and swimming in this healing water, good food. Just TOP! The butler service was very well organized. We were pampered starting from the pickup at the airport till the day we left. The villa itself is grand and very clean, stands on a huge property, very well kept with beautiful olive trees and an amazing place to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather. We enjoyed hanging out in the gardens, especially in the beautiful lounge overlooking the blue sea, pampered with drinks and snacks. What more can one wish for! Lovely breakfasts with a daily variety, the food high level, snacks, drinks. The menu was each time adapted because we had 2 vegetarians in the group. Everything was possible. We had an amazing stay with nice and some funny memories to look back to. The family is very welcoming, heartwarming and does everything to make your stay to perfection. We would say: book the Villa Amfiarios and get the chance to experience all of this. The concept is unique, top and worked out to perfection. We give the whole experience a 11/10!

Indescribably beautiful place hosted by a wonderful, fun-loving family! Spent all of last week with Villa Amfiario as our home base and we couldn't have picked a better location. Stunning views of the South Euboean Bay, nearby hiking trails, a wonderful beach only minutes away and the food! So, so good! Yiannis' mom is a magician in the kitchen! It truly was an amazing experience, from yoga with Tanya in a nearby 2,400 year-old Greek temple, to the best seafood meal of my life at a nearby restaurant, to wonderful excursions including two wineries and Athens! The gardens in particular had me enthralled - roses the size of my face, wildflowers, groves of olive trees near bloom, a sparkling waterfall by a terrace overlooking the villa, brilliant red blooming bottle-brush bushes, and itty, bitty Happiya - the villa kitten - who stole my heart. I can't say enough about this place.

5 stars doesn’t begin to express the magic that was unleashed!! From the beginning of the initial confirmation, pick up at the airport to the drop off at the close of the retreat, there was never a question and concern that wasn’t addressed without a beat - without a flaw. My needs were anticipated and met and met and were always met … with so much care and attention to detail, I felt like a VIP, like royalty …. Like an “A” celebrity, I was treated as such, it felt GOOOOOOD! The accommodations were immaculate and clean, the linens made you feel as though you were suspended evening fluffy cloud, so soft yet crisp… The gorgeous food was prepared with love… greens from the garden on property, local authentic cuisine bespoke to your dietary needs …yes including raw vegan…. The wine……….. ✨✨✨✨✨✨muahXX! Even being a part of a group YOU are taken care of with the upmost attention. The views will I promise take your breath away… each sunrise and each sunset will create a primordial masterpiece specifically for your memories…. The gardens are impeccable with roses the size of a head of lettuce!! 5 stars doesn’t begin to express the enchanting, healing, creative, and adventurous stay I experienced… HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ?????+

We spent a splendid week at the Villa Amfiario, attending a workshop on pleasure, beauty and art. We have a lot to say about the details of our stay and how happy we were. For readers who want a digested version, here it is: The villa is a gorgeous facility in a delightful setting. The hosts are warm and welcoming. They take care of every detail and seem to take pleasure in making guests happy in unexpected ways. If we had the opportunity to return, we’d grab our passports and pack our bags without a second thought. We agree with other reviewers: Five stars is not enough to express how happy we were to find ourselves at the villa for a week. Here are more details about the Villa Amfiario’s charms. We cannot overstate how lovely it was to have every aspect of our visit taken care of so that we didn’t have to worry about a thing. The hosts even responded to unexpected needs with ease and grace. For example, when one of us caught a cold, our hosts made a special trip to help us get medicine for him. Also, they helped us isolate him from the group, arranging separate meals for him when the rest of our group was out on excursions, and delivering meals to his room when the group ate at the Villa. The Villa and its grounds are lovely. Our room was large, clean and bright and it was freshened every day. From the Villa there are glorious views of the water, Evvia island and the hills beyond. We were lucky enough to watch a thunderstorm come in over the water toward the Villa and it was spectacular to see. Our hostess was an interior designer before retiring to her work at the Villa. You’ll see her touch when you notice the windows are exactly where windows ought to be and sliding doors are exactly where they ought to be. These may seem like small details but taken together they produce a strong sense of beauty and calm. The Villa is set on a hill. Resting spots are placed across the property, providing a variety of locations for relaxing. The rose gardens are especially beautiful and if you have a chance to tour the grounds with one of the hosts, we think you’ll be glad you did. You’re likely to learn about how they graft and care for their olive trees, how to prune rose bushes and depending on when you visit, you might get to sample a perfectly ripe strawberry picked just for you. The food was out of this world, and the accomplished chef created meals that met a variety of dietary needs. She made a creamy cheese pie wrapped in phyllo dough that was my personal favorite. Her vegetarian moussaka was yummy – as was the version made with ground meat –and her desserts (for example, divine chocolate lava cake that happened to be vegan or frozen strawberry daquiris with or without rum as you prefer) were lovely endings to her tasty meals. When our group was not meeting for workshop sessions, the Villa’s hosts arranged a nice variety of excursions for us – to a couple of local wineries, to nearby beaches for swimming without crowds, to the Acropolis in Athens, and to more local cultural and historical sites with special significance. The selected excursions gave us a nice balance of active and quiet time. The warm hospitality with which our hosts arranged every aspect of our visit made everything better. They didn’t just provide our meals. They served our meals, often describing where the ingredients came from and what made each dish special. Each morning they greeted us with fresh juice, a friendly smile and an upbeat attitude. They were consistently eager to please and seemed to go out of their way to make us happy. For example, taking a U-turn on one of our excursions to pick up fresh cherries from a farmer’s roadside stand and making special arrangements such as dinner delivered to a room for workshop participants who occasionally needed extra time on their own. We loved the time we spent at the Villa Amfiario, and we strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to hold a retreat, workshop or gathering. We think your attendees will be well cared for and very happy.

I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, and my experience with the staff and management of Villa Amfiario was perhaps the best I have ever encountered. You can expect to be treated like royalty and family at the very same time. They offer luxury and beauty in many forms - including the manicured property bursting with flowers, waterfalls, vegetable gardens, and incredible views of the sea, but also immaculate accommodations, plentiful and delicious food, and personalized love and care that comes straight from the heart. Truly an AMAZING experience 5/8-5/14 for a Yoga retreat. This beautifully appointed villa on a hilltop overlooking the South Eubean Gulf waters with Evia, second largest Greek Island across the waters. The location is close proximity to Athens and all the ports that can take you to different locations, although, nearby are magical places to visit! Everything was magical from the moment I was picked up at the airport until the last day of our retreat. This wonderful family opened their hearts and their home to give us wonderful experiences from the finest Greek cuisine (from Christos’s wonderful garden to Eleni’s great tasting dishes)to Greek history. Giannis’s professional background and his charismatic personality was a bonus with lots of fun & laughter, making everyone feel so comfortable! Outstanding! Never experienced anything like this before. The villa hosts had thought about every detail to make it all unforgettable. Lot of fun, wonderful people, delicious food and amazing dinner at sunset. Highly recommend this beautiful place! This is a MUST HAVE experience!
