Best Hotel in Greece

A	Aira68 0 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Als erstes: ich bin kein Stammgast und das erste Mal auf Kreta. Daher würde ich sagen, dass ich ganz unvoreingenommen an die Sache rangegangen bin. Bei der Villa Jannis handelt es sich um ein kleines familiär geführtes Hotel. Aus deutscher Sicht eher eine Pension. Was ihr allerdings nicht negativ ausgelegt werden kann. Wer ein anonymes Hotel mit sterilem Service sucht, ist hier falsch. Der Service ist sehr gut, herzlich und sehr persönlich. Die Zimmer geräumig und ja vielleicht etwas altmodisch. Aber man fühlt sich dennoch wohl. Man bekommt eben sofort das Gefühl, dass man bei einem lieben Familienmitglied seine Ferien verbringt. Das Frühstück und das Abendessen ist einfach aber lecker. Man sollte es hier nicht mit einem üppigen Buffet der großen Hotels vergleichen. Etwas Frischkäse und ein etwas anders arrangierter Aufschnitt wären dennoch ganz schön. Beim Abendessen wäre ein alternatives Gericht, für jemanden der nicht die deftige griechische Küche bevorzugt, eine gute Alternative. Wir hatten das Zimmer auf der anderen Seite des Hotels und bekamen von der Musik vom Pool nichts mit. Auch ließ es sich auf den Matratzen sehr gut schlafen. Es gab sogar ein extra Kissen für jeden. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner familiärer Urlaub bei "Onkel Jannis" (erinnert ihr euch an die Metapher mit dem Familienmitglied?). Wenn ich mir die 1-3 Sterne-Bewertungen hier durchlese kann ich nur Folgendes sagen : Viele erwarten heutzutage immer ein 5 Sterne Hotel zum 3 Sterne Preis. Wer so an die Sache rangeht sollte vielleicht etwas länger auf ein tatsächliche 5 Sterne Hotel sparen. First of all: I'm not a regular guest and it's my first time on Crete. So I would say that I went about it with an open mind. The Villa Jannis is a small family-run hotel. From a German point of view more of a pension. However, this cannot be interpreted negatively. If you're looking for an anonymous hotel with sterile service, you've come to the wrong place. The service is very good, warm and very personal. The rooms are spacious and yes maybe a bit dated. But you still feel good. You immediately get the feeling that you are spending your holidays with a dear family member. Breakfast and dinner is simple but delicious. You shouldn't compare it to a sumptuous buffet in the big hotels. Some cream cheese and a slightly different arrangement of cold cuts would still be nice. At dinner an alternative meal would be a good option for someone who doesn't prefer the hearty Greek cuisine. We had the room on the other side of the hotel and didn't hear the music from the pool. It was also very easy to sleep on the mattresses. There was even an extra pillow for everyone. All in all a very nice family holiday at "Uncle Jannis" (remember the family member metaphor?). When I read through the 1-3 star ratings here, I can only say the following: Nowadays, many always expect a 5-star hotel at a 3-star price. If you approach the matter that way, you might want to save a little longer for an actual 5 star hotel.
