★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was staying in one of the All Inclusive hotel in Karvros when I started to get itchy feet after 24 hours. The rest of my family were not moving from around the pool. I popped up to reception to see about hiring a bike. Within 5 minutes it was ordered for 9am the next day. The bike arrived at 9am on the dot. It was in tip top condition which gave me the confidence to do the more challenging rides.
There are plenty of villages and sites close by. I used the map that was provided and went out for a couple of hours each day. This gave me the chance to see the real Crete. Be prepared to drink Raki in some of the villages whatever the time of day ? They are very insistent and it would be rude not to. Not too much though as the downhills are steep and you need to have your wits about you. Hiring a bike was definately the best part of my trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered a bike out of his normal area at camari gardens geroni. The bike arrived within 20 minutes pedals swapped over for mine, all good. Had a problem with the lock calkwd nikos he was back in no time lock cut off and new lock supplied. The whilst not as new as mine works fine it is bloke on the bike struggling with the heat but the views are worth the sweating. Thanks nikos!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great service from Nikos. Got a Scott road bike, rigid and reliable for a fair price. Warm air and sea temperatures + Beautiful landscapes and tarmac roads + little traffic on Crete island. I especially recommend the area around Psiloritis mountain, Hora Sfakion hairpins with an excellent view on the Libyan sea are absolutely magnificent. Nikos says he stays open till mid November so go for it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nikos is probably the best place to rent a bike in Kavros. Different types of bikes, all well maintained. Niko, the owner, is carefully assessing the best bike for your adventure and gladly suggest trip options in the area.He's also ready to assist in case of any issues - punctured tires or other stuff.
I've rented a Scott road bike and everything was fine though I regret not having the saddle gel cover with me.
There are OTHER cheaper rentals but you get mostly junk that don't work properly, you can't change speeds etc. Just go for Nikos, better have a smooth ride.
