This place is known for the battles that took place in the region during the first phase of the Greek-Italian war of 1940-1941. In these battles, the few Greek Forces achieved, with their heroic resistance, to prevent the enemy from penetrating the area of Epirus . At the entrance of the village of Kalpaki lies the war museum. It was erected in 1975 and includes exhibits - heirlooms of the Battle of Kalpaki, which took place during the invasion of the Italians in Greece (28 October 1940). The museum is housed in a building. Opposite the museum is the "hero of NO" with busts of John Metaxas, King George II and Alexandros Papagos.
