Die meisten von ihnen liegen in Trümmern, doch einige der Mühlen wurden aufwendig rekonstruiert. Wer dies als reines Ausflugsziel anvisierte mag vielleicht enttäuscht werden, wer jedoch nach dem Motto losgeht „Der Weg ist das Ziel“ wird von der Landschaft und dem atemberaubenden Ausblick in Verbindung mit den Mühlen sicherlich sehr begeistert sein. The historic windmills at the entrance to the Lassithi Plateau stand like guardians that are thousands of years old. Most of them are in ruins, but some of the mills have been painstakingly reconstructed. Those who aim at this as a pure excursion destination may be disappointed, but those who start out according to the motto “The path is the goal” will certainly be very enthusiastic about the landscape and the breathtaking view in connection with the mills.
J	Jan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Diese zum Teil verfallenen, aber auch teilweise restaurierten Windmühlen, wirken wie eine Art Mauer an dieser man vorbei muss wenn man über die Epar. Od. Neapolisstr. in Richtung Lasithi Hochebene fahren möchte. Es ist ein beeindruckendes Bild, wie diese Mühlen über den Bergkamm ,,drüberlaufen,,. Wenn man Richtung Nord/Nord-Ost, in das Tal guckt, sieht man sogar den Stausee vom Lassithi Plateau. Ein guter Ort um einfach mal eine kleine Pause zu machen und zudessen einfach mal die Aussicht, sowie die Bauwerke zu genießen. These partly dilapidated, but also partly restored windmills look like a kind of wall that you have to pass when you cross the Epar. or Neapolisstr. towards Lasithi Plateau. It is an impressive picture how these mills "run over" over the mountain ridge. If you look north/north-east into the valley, you can even see the reservoir from the Lassithi Plateau. A good place to just take a little break and at the same time just enjoy the view and the buildings.

Als wir da waren, Zutritt kostenlos, einige der Windmühlen in komplettem Zustand mit Windrad, Getriebe und Mahlsteinen. Andere dagegen bis auf die Grundmauern verfallen. Für die höher gelegenen Windmühlen geeignetes Schuhwerk sinnvoll, da über Geröll geklettert werden muss. Toll zum erkunden mit Kindern. Insgesamt aber nur ein Zwischenstop und kein Hauptausflugsziel. Free entry when we were there, some of the windmills in complete condition with pinwheel, gears and grinding stones. Others, on the other hand, have fallen to the ground. Suitable footwear makes sense for the higher-lying windmills, as you have to climb over scree. Great for exploring with kids. All in all only a stopover and not a main destination.
