★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect as always. I keep on returning for about half a decade hooked from the very first stay. Most amazing hosts Irini, Dimitris and of course Efrastia’s hearty breakfast.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are very happy that we booked here for our 4 night stay in Kamares. Dimitri and Irini were so friendly, helpful and kind. True Greek hospitality. They ensured that everything was good for us. We loved how tidy and spotless the whole place was, including our rooms. Our room was cleaned and made up everyday. We were impressed by the little thoughtful touches in the room like glasses, a bottle of water, a clothes rail just outside the room with pegs to hang out wet swimwear and towels. Also having a fan in the room was great when we didn’t want to turn on the ac. We slept well as the room was nice and dark when you close the windows. Breakfast was good too, with fresh homemade cakes and sweets every morning. They even had English breakfast teabags which was nice to see as usually most Greek places usually have Lipton tea bags. Irini gave us a lot of information about the island and the suggestions of where to eat and which beaches to go to were spot on! We loved all her favourite beaches. Also the location of Xerolithia is perfect. The views spectacular. Waking up to those view every morning was a real pleasure. And the walk down to Kamares port and beach is only 10 minutes. We enjoyed walked down every evening in the beautiful evening light to enjoy the sunset from the beach or up in the chapel near Agia Marina. At the end of our stay when we were moving to the next accommodation near Apollonia we were sad to leave Xerolithia and really missed staying there. We were so grateful to the lovely staff at Xerolithia and can’t recommend it more for a perfect, comfortable, enjoyable stay in Kamares.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After a short stay in Santorini we spent a couple of days in Sifnos. The price we paid was the same (and already above average), but the quality gap was huge.
Under the current circumstances we expect hotel owners to have an even more attention to detail and focus on client needs and that is what we experienced in Santorini. At xerolithia we experienced exactly the opposite: although not fully booked, we got a tiny 10sqm room and a bottle of water in the fridge. Next day we came 10m late for breakfast and were not served anymore. The next day I asked if I could have an omelet for breakfast and it was not possible as fried eggs only were on the menu of that day. The breakfast was the most simple one can get, no extra appeal for quality or indulge clients. In the Check-out we expressed this same opinion and it was not well received at all. Running a hotel is not only about picking up clients 300m away in the port and dumping them in a ridiculously small room with a nice view and call this a great service. It’s about going the extra mile and pamper clients. We are definitely not looking to be pampered or to have an extra attention towards us, but having stayed in hotels all over the world we can clearly state that this was a total no-go regarding value for money.
